Jaxtr, a social communications solution that we’ve mentioned previously on Mashable, is launching its public beta on Tuesday, after a period of private testing. Jaxtr’s service allows you to offer a click-to-call option on your blog or social network profile page, granting direct access to your mobile or land line telephone for free. Callers don’t see your phone number, as it remains private unless otherwise specified, and they don’t even need a Jaxtr account to use this function to reach you. This is a great service to have, and bypasses much of the inconvenience surrounding an instant messenger call function where all parties must be online, and operates only using VoIP. The service operates by providing a permanent number to callers in each of the 200 countries it is now available in for users to dial into in order to reach their Jaxtr party. That permanent number can be used by the caller to reach the Jaxtr user on the number they provided, whether it be a mobile or land line phone. It’s ideal for college students and teenagers, non-profits, or small business owners seeking an easy global communication solution. [ Link to original post ]
