The video sharing site Kewego.com, has raised $6.9 million US in a second-round of funding.

Kewego is the joint venture that formed out of two French sites merging their services. The offspring raised $6.3 million in the first round of funding from Banxei Venture Partners, who also returned for the second round. Also joining in this time is CDC Enterprises.

Kewego, besides having traditional video sharing sites in 10 European countries, also provides white-label sites to companies such as Orange, Lycos, T-Online, and French Broadcaster, M6. They also provide a “Content Producer” service which allows content owners to link their own videos to the site, such as The Ministry of Sound has done.

Pan-European video sharing upstart Kewego has raised a $6.9 million (EUR 5 million) second-round investment to fund further international development.

Formed last year from the rollup of two French video-sharing sites, the Paris-based site raised $6.3 million from Banxei Venture Partners in its first round; Banxei returns for this round with CDC Enterprises, the French government’s EUR 150 investment fund, which specializes in co-funded early startups.

Kewego operates video upload sites under its own name in 10 European countries and in multiple languages, but YouTube-chasing is becoming an increasingly crowded space so Kewego also provides white-label user-generated content sites to clients including Orange, Lycos, French broadcaster M6 and T-Online.
