Today Is The Day, Firefox Fans

Normally, we would have waited for the actual launch of the final version of Firefox 3 - which will happen today at 10 AM PDT - but the folks at Firefox have a record to break, so we’ll help out by hyping them up in advance.

Since they basically invented the “most software downloaded in 24 hours” Guinness record, there’s no set number that needs to be achieved, but they’re aiming for 5 million. So far, over 1.5 million people have pledged to download Firefox 3, but I’m sure this number will be surpassed when the actual downloading frenzy starts.

And, if you’re too lazy to calculate the exact time when Firefox 3 final will become available in your time zone, you can use this handy map, courtesy of Digital Inspiration. Let’s hammer those servers to death, baby!
