If you’re a Stephen King fan, this is definitely something that will be right up your alley cell phone. It might also be cool enough that just about anyone who likes a good scary story might want to jump on it as well, especially considering that this is a previously unpublished short story of King’s called “N.” and it is being turned into a 25 episode video series.
This is a completely original series that has been developed specifically for the small screens on cell phones. It comes with an original musical score and a full cast of voice overs that includes Ben Shenkman, an Emmy and Golden Globe nominee. Artwork for the series is being drawn by Alex Maleev, with the coloring being done by Jose Villarrubia. The adaptation from the short story form was done by Marc Guggenheim with creative oversight by King himself.
If you want to get a head start and watch the first episode before its official release you can head over to NisHero.com, enter in your name and email address and have at it. You can also watch the trailer for it there as well.
The official release schedule will start Monday, July 28th, 2008 with a new episode being released each weekday until August 29th. At the same time, blocks of five episodes will be released on iTunes each Monday until August 25th. Each block of 5 episodes will cost you $0.99 but you can get a season pass for all the episodes for $3.99.
